KS3 R&W

Understanding what inspires and motivates people, whether their worldview is religious or not, is essential to becoming a global citizen.
  • In Year 7 curriculum students focus on the three main Dharmic religions: Hindu Dharma, Buddhisms and Sikhi.
  • In Year 8, we turn our attention to the Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianities and Islam.
  • By Year 9, we are able to use this substantive curriculum knowledge to discuss and debate current ethical issues that are facing modern society.
R&W lessons foster empathy and equip students with the ability to disagree well. Our curriculum is driven by contemporary academic research and within lessons we study religion and worldviews through a philosophical, theological and sociological lens. Throughout are opportunities to make links to local faith communities, and non-religious worldviews such as humanism, atheism and agnosticism.  Click here to see our KS3 Wider Reading List
