The overarching aim of the curriculum is to develop an appreciation of the importance, beauty and power of mathematics, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject. Within this we would like students to explore the creativity of the subject without self-imposed boundaries where having five ways to solve one problem is far more powerful than one way to solve five similar problems.

Mathematics is an interconnected set of strands where links from one topic to another can constantly be spotted. Students can follow these and investigate their hidden depths if they can explain rather than just perform.
