Ben HoughtonHeadteacher
Ben Houghton
Ben graduated in Law from Cardiff University before completing his PGCE at Bristol University in 1999. He has worked in numerous secondary schools in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Weston Super Mare in a variety of leadership roles. Ben worked at RGS from 2007-2013 as Curriculum Leader for Humanities followed by Assistant Headteacher for Post-16. He re-joins RGS following 8 years at Backwell School as Deputy Headteacher. A qualified Ofsted inspector, Ben also holds the National Professional Qualification of Headship.

Nick LindSenior Deputy Headteacher
Nick Lind
BA (Hons) MA PGCE NPQH
Nick studied Economic and Social History at Exeter University before starting a career in accountancy. Since completing his PGCE at Bristol University Nick has held various posts in schools in Bristol and North Somerset including Head of House, Deputy Head of Post 16 and Assistant Headteacher. He has also worked closely with the Bristol University PGCE department and has been a School Leader in Education for safeguarding. Nick joined Redland Green as Deputy Headteacher in September 2015 and has leadership responsibility for outcomes at Key Stage 3 and 4, admissions, attendance, school communications and, timetabling.

Hayden SouthonDeputy Headteacher
Hayden Southon
Hayden studied Economic and Social History at the University of Leicester and then completed his PGCE at the University of Leicester. His first teaching post was in a school in East Anglia where he held both curriculum and pastoral responsibilities. Since moving to the South West in 2002 he has worked across two school as both a middle and senior leader. Hayden has held responsibilities for pastoral care, safeguarding and inclusion and been a governor for two alternative provision schools. He has been a SENCO since 2009 and completed the National Award for SEN Coordination in 2010. Hayden joined Redland Green in September 2019 as SENDCo and was appointed Deputy Headteacher in May 2021. Hayden is the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Children-in-Care Teacher.

Jenna BushAssistant Headteacher KS3
Jenna Bush
BA (Hons) PGCE
Jenna studied for her degree in English Literature & Drama / Dance at De Montfort University and continued to complete a PGCE before coming to Bristol to teach at Kingsfield School in Kingswood. She then joined the Redland Green English department in 2010 and has fulfilled various roles including including KS3 coordinator for English, House Lead and now as Assistant Head has responsibility for KS3 across the school.

Tim CoxAssistant Headteacher KS4/ Business IT
Tim Cox
BA Environmental Studies; MA Environmental Education; PGCE
Tim worked for a variety of wildlife conservation organisations for 12 years prior to becoming a teacher. He trained as a geography teacher at the University of Bristol in 2000 before relocating to Portsmouth to teach at King Richard School. In 2004 Tim travelled to New Zealand to teach at Rotorua Boys High School and then returned to the UK to teach briefly in North Somerset before joining Redland Green School in 2008 as a Teacher of IT. He was promoted to Curriculum Team Leader of Business Studies, IT, Economics and Politics in 2010. Currently Tim is Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Key Stage 4. In addition Tim is tasked with managing our IT networks and promoting digital literacy in the school.

Owen TipladyAssistant Headteacher KS5
Owen Tiplady
BA (Hons), PGCE
Owen, a business and economics specialist, is Assistant Headteacher for Post 16 at the Redland Green Learning Community.
He has worked in a number of secondary schools in East London and Bristol, and joined Redland Green School in 2008. He has held a number of different roles within the Post 16 team and is enthusiastic about facilitating students to achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum.

Peter MunsieSenior Middle Leader - Personal Development
Peter Munsie
Health Science and GradDipEd in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
Peter studied Health Science and GradDipEd in Personal, Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) at the University of Western Sydney. Prior to joining RGS, Peter taught at various schools within Bristol and the NSW education system in Australia for 15 years, primarily as a senior leader in Student Wellbeing and Assistant Head. He joined RGS in 2014 in the Post of SENCo completing the Certificate of Education in Special Educational Needs. Peter has worked closely with the Local Authority in developing and implementing the national reforms to SEND across Bristol and within Redland Green School.

Maxine HartySENDCo
Maxine Harty
Maxine studied history and sociology at the University of Manchester and completed her PGCE at the University of Bath before taking up her first teaching post in Bristol. She worked in several teaching roles in schools in the South West before moving to education in a secure setting. Working with young people with high levels of need, Maxine was a Curriculum Leader for life skills and then Resettlement Manager at HMP & YOI Ashfield until returning to mainstream secondary education in 2013. She took up a post at Redland Green School teaching humanities in 2015 and has been leading our Personal Social & Health Education (PSHE) provision since 2018. Maxine has worked closely with our SEND, safeguarding and pastoral teams to develop an inclusive programme of PSHE for all students.
